It’s time to stop treading water and build confidence with a better performing business.

If you’re turning over $1M–$10M and still feel like tax is a surprise, profit is hard to pin down, and your accountant only calls when there’s a bill — this page is for you.
Watch the video, then read on.
You’ve built something real. Revenue is solid. You’re employing people, winning work, and running hard.
But somewhere along the way the financial side of the business stopped keeping up. Your accountant does the tax return. Sends the bill. Maybe calls once a year — usually because something’s wrong.
You don’t really know what you’ll owe at the end of the year until it arrives. You’re not sure if the structure you’re in is still the right one. You’ve got profit sitting somewhere but you’re not sure how to get it out without a massive tax hit. And nobody is sitting across the table helping you think through any of it.
That’s the gap we fill.
If you read that and thought “that’s me” — keep reading.
KHT started as a traditional firm — clients mailed in their documents, we did the work, sent back the return and the bill. We barely even met. That model existed to serve the accountant, not the client.
We redesigned it entirely.
Ben Elliott built this practice after going through the same journey most of our clients are on — running a business, learning to read numbers that matter, figuring out how to grow deliberately rather than just work harder. That experience is baked into how we operate.
Here’s what the relationship actually looks like:
We do a goal-setting session. Where is the business now, where do you want it to go, and what does the structure need to look like to get there. If the structure isn’t right, we fix it.
We prepare your financials and KPIs and meet to go through them. Are you on track? Where’s the profit leaking? What’s the tax looking like? What do you need to focus on next? It’s a board meeting for your business — except the other person at the table actually knows what they’re talking about.
Tax planning meeting before EOFY, so there are no surprises. Annual results meeting to review the year and set direction for the next one.
We handle everything — BAS, ASIC compliance, minutes, lodgements. And when something comes up, you call us. We answer.
A cleaning business that started from nothing. In the early years we helped them get the structure right and set goals for what the business could become. We met regularly, tracked the numbers, and focused on keeping profit consistent and tax managed.
Today they employ over 200 people. The business pays strong dividends to the owners. Tax is never a surprise. The business is worth something real.
An $8M revenue manufacturing business that was making losses every year. Good revenue, wrong focus. After several meetings with the director, Ben met with the management team and recommended dropping an unprofitable service line to make capacity for the higher-margin work.
The business turned a profit of $1.2M the following year. Same again the year after. The business went from being worth almost nothing to being worth $3–4M. Ben meets with the management team every month.
A $4M revenue engineering firm paying $40,000 a year in accounting fees and receiving zero proactive advice. Pure compliance. They came to us, we did a goal-setting session, and started meeting quarterly to track the numbers.
Profit went through the roof. When you set goals and track your progress against them, you perform better — it’s that simple. The tax saving in year one covered our fees many times over.
A $7M revenue electrical business with two owners — one who understood the numbers, one who didn’t. The quarterly meetings gave both owners a shared view of the business for the first time. We also identified a significant amount of cash that had built up in the business with no tax-effective way to extract it.
We restructured to fix that. The owners now draw from the business properly. The numbers sessions keep them aligned and focused.
A sole trader about to hire his first employee. We rolled the business into a company, ran a goal-setting session to show what the business could look like at $250K net profit, and started quarterly meetings to track the progress.
A simple start. But the right foundation makes everything that follows easier.
A consulting civil engineer operating as a sole trader who had grown to $650K in revenue in the first twelve months. Personal exertion income — difficult to split — but the right structure was still needed as the business scaled and liability exposure grew.
We recommended a trading company owned by a holding company owned by a family trust. With the business still early-stage, there was no CGT on the transfer. The structure is right for where this is heading. Quarterly financials and bookkeeping are now in place.
An optometry and retail eyewear business that had accumulated a significant cash surplus inside the company over many years. The money was trapped — extracting it the conventional way would have triggered a substantial tax bill. Most advisers hadn’t identified the opportunity, let alone a solution.
We structured a Division 7A loan arrangement to access the retained cash in a tax-effective way. The total cost to implement — including transfer duty — was $60,000. The tax saving was over $500,000.
That kind of outcome doesn’t come from a compliance accountant. It comes from someone who is actively looking at your position and asking what could be done differently.
The first meeting is a conversation — not a pitch. But it’s worth being clear about what this is: we’re not a cheaper version of your current accountant, and we’re not a tax-return service. This is ongoing tax strategy, quarterly meetings, and proactive advice — the kind of relationship that changes what your business is worth and what you keep.
Book a Strategy MeetingOur calendar is limited and these meetings are in high demand, so we ask for a $250 deposit to hold your spot. It’s fully credited against your first invoice when you come on as a client — so if we’re the right fit, it costs you nothing.
